Northumbria Scholarships 2010 Entry Fees and Scholarships

In 2010, the tuition fee for most of Northumbria’s full-time undergraduate courses will be £3,290. The Northumbria Scholarship is a sum of money given to 'home' students who pay the full tuition fee.

In Year 1, this is a non-repayable, non-means-tested award of up to £1,000 depending on course studied (the table below indicates the cash sum awarded by subject area). From Year 2 onwards the full scholarship will be awarded to students who score more than 60%. This cash sum is normally paid out in Semester 2.

Northumbria provides an additional non-repayable bursary (£319 in 2009) to all students who receive the full maintenance grant or equivalent for Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish students. Please note, that in order to qualify, students from England should also have a household income of under £25,000 (2009 figure), students from Scotland should have a household income of under £19,310 (2009 figure), students from Wales a household income of under £18,370 (2009 figure), and students from Northern Ireland a household income of under £18,802 (2009 figure).

Please note: ‘Home’ students undertaking relevant health, nursing and midwifery courses will have their fees covered by the Health Authority, therefore the Northumbria Scholarships is not available. This relates to the following courses, Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Top-up students, or students not paying the full fee are not entitled to the Scholarship.
