    - It's Official
Higher Education Auditors have rated sixteen of Northumbria's subjects as excellent. And with a very high average across the board, Northumbria is in the premier division for the quality of its teaching!

    - What the papers say
League tables in the national newspapers have rated courses at Northumbria as outstanding.

    - More choice
Northumbria's modularised courses means that you have more to choose from, and more flexibility in the variety of units you can study in your chosen subject.

    - Staying the Course
At Northumbria we look after our students. A Financial Times league table, based on government figures, showed that this University came out top for helping students to stay the course and to qualify with a head start for their future.
    Choose Northumbria for great experience

    - Student City
There are forty thousand students in Newcastle. That means that around one in seven of the population here is a student! And there is plenty of good, cheap accommodation. Newcastle is the student city!
    Night out

    - Have a great time!
With so many young people here it's not surprising that Newcastle has been voted 8th top city for night life - in the world!

    - Culture vultures
There's plenty to exercise your brain cells too, with several theatres, the oldest 'arty' cinema outside London, classical music, opera and dance, and art galleries to please all tastes.

    - Sport
As one of the UK's leading institutions in sport, Northumbria provides opportunities for students to take part at all levels, from high performance to recreation. There is also a nationally-recognised education and training programme, enabling students to become qualified leaders and volunteers.

    - Getting there
Northumbria is so easy to get to. By rail Newcastle is 3.5 hours from London and less than two from Edinburgh. It has an international airport, and road access is excellent.

    - Getting around
Newcastle has a modern metro rail system which is the envy of the rest of the UK. Linked with the local bus services - the Metro makes getting around, cheap fast and efficient.

    - Getting away from it all
Golden beaches, wild moorland, moody woodland, the biggest man-made lake in Europe, more castles than any other county in the UK, and all within an hour's travel from the city!
Choose Northumbria for a great future

    - Get some real skills
Northumbria courses are designed to offer students real skills (problem solving, Information Technology, modern languages) which are immediately useful in today's global workplace.

    - Get some real experience
Many Northumbria courses include industrial experience or work placement, which is invaluable in the job market. The University has partnerships and links with many major companies and organisations.

    - Get an advantage
Northumbria graduates get good jobs. In fact 90%+ of graduates are either employed or continuing in HE, 6 months after graduation.
