70%+:- Accurate analysis of any facts including awareness of irrelevance. Clear statements
of applicable law substantiated by clear, appropriate authority. Accurate application of law to
the facts with clear, concise and complete conclusions. Demonstrating correct forms of legal
address and terminology and written in coherent English to a high standard of grammar,
leaving the assessor feeling that a higher standard could not reasonably have been expected.

60-69%:- A high degree of competence in answering the question, having regard in
particular to the points specified above.

50-59%:- Competent, but lacking the depth of analysis and detailed discussion of the 60-
69% category. Most of the relevant 'material' will have been given but use of it will be less
skilful and less developed than in the higher mark-band. There may be less application of the
law to the problem, and perhaps a tendency to cite blocks of law without explaining their
    relevance.

    40-49%
:- Relevant material is relatively thin and poorly used and/or analysis and discussion
are inadequate. Law may be incompletely stated or important authority overlooked. Answer
indicates a superficial knowledge or partial awareness of legal issues raised by facts.

    Fail
:- Does not satisfy the requirements of the 40-49% band.

Is this the grading scale for all of the LLB programmes? I wasn't aware of such a detailed analysis. Thanks for sharing with us. It'll be super helpful in the days to come.

I have to say that I think this is a good scale but I wonder how closely this is used in actually marking papers...
