At Aston we offer students the opportunity to study law within one of Europe’s leading business schools. With a strong business focus, our two distinctive programmes are designed to help our students stand out from the crowd and enhance their careers.

At postgraduate level we offer the LLM International Commercial Law and at undergraduate level the LLB Law with Management; the LLB is a qualifying law degree accredited by the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Teaching on both the LLB and LLM takes a strong contextual approach in order that our students understand the business context in which legal issues and problems arise. Specialist modules develop our students’ research skills enabling them to get the most from their legal studies. We provide a friendly and supportive environment in which to study and are able to offer one-to-one support to all of our students.

Our teaching staff, many of whom are barristers, have many years’ experience of teaching law. Our active research and publications enable our students to learn about the latest national and international developments from staff passionate about the subjects they teach.

Located in Birmingham, one of the most important legal centres outside of London, we have strong links with the legal profession. The University is home to the Birmingham Law Society Library and there are many opportunities for our students to observe the law in practice as our city centre campus is close to the Birmingham law courts and regular visits are organised.
